Richard Senate Novel published by Lost Continent Magazine.

Mr. Senate wrote his first novel at the age of 15. It was a science fiction work called the "Swords of Mars" and he openly admits that it was "bloody awful." Most of his fiction has been ignored over the years but recently one of his adventure novels was picked up by Lost Continent magazine and serialized. The story is entitled: The Flight of the Hercules and is a Jules Verne inspired historical fiction. It details the flight of a huge balloon called the Hercules in a mad dash from Washington DC to Paris, France. The first two chapters now appear in their March edition. They can be accessed at:

The novel will soon be available in a hardback illustrated edition.

What ever happened to John Anthony Miller's cool voice-overs of Richard Senate's Terror and Ghost Tales?

This is a question that was asked by several people of late. Here is the answer!
John has been rather ill the last few months and has just not been feeling "up to par." He never quite recovered from an automobile accident that occured last April when a drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit his van broadside. He told me it is a "miracle" he was not killed and attributes his seat belts and deployed airbags for saving his life, or in the least, making him paralyzed. He says he is feeling better and plans to go ahead with more of the recordings. The talented artist that he is (www.johnanthonymiller.com), John finds it curious that almost all of the vocal tales have been sold in Germany, United Kingdom and and Austria as well as other various places in the European continent. A couple were requested from,  of all places, Transylvania! Ah, yes! There is hope yet! Keep tuned in! More tales from the mind and pen of master author and terror writer Richard Senate are yet to be narrated! And no one on earth is better suited to bring them to "life!" Some of the tales are posted here on the site, free of charge. Just download them...while they are still here! -Reported by Cindy Jane (nee Eyre) O'Rourke.

The Search for Kabar's Ghost

Rudolph Valentino’s great Dane hound, Kabar, is buried at the Los Angeles pet cemetery in Calabasas. The dog was Valentino’s favorite and was the only one of his pets permitted to sleep with him at his Bell Air Mansion of Falcon’s Lair. The silent actor’s girl friend, Pola Negri, formed a friendship with Kabar and the three slept together. The dog died two years after Valentino in 1928. It is said that the very moment Rudolph died in New York, the dog let out a terrible howl. Over the years Kabar has appeared at séances and has been seen on the road by Valentino’s house, as well as at the pet cemetery grounds. One séance several years ago attempted to unite the dog with his master. Debbie Senate has undertaken a special project to research the ghost of Kabar and see if the animal’s spirit is still around. If anyone has seen this ghost dog or would like to help, please contact the Senates.

Has anyone heard of a ghost at 601 State St. in Santa Barbara? It is where Aaron Brothers is located. I work there and I have had many ghost like experiences. Foot steps, slamming doors where there are no doors, things coming off the walls etc.

I felt Kabar lick my hand once when I went to his grave site. It was the spookiest thing I ever had happen to me. This was back in 2003 in August. I later learned that was the day Valentino died.

    Hi Richard,

Someone called me today asking if I know about the ghost at 1365 Cruzero in Ojai. She just moved in and is seeing ghosts. She wonders if the house is haunted or if this is coming from a Navajo bracelet her mother just gave her.

    Any ideas?
